Annette S. Parent is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Practice. Dr. Parent focuses her practice on patent counseling, prosecution, opinions, and due diligence in the areas of biologics and life sciences.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Dr. Parent was a partner at a national law firm, where she represented research and development arms of academic institutions, startup biotechnology and drug discovery companies, and national pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Parent earned her J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Duke University School of Law in 1996, where she was editor-in-chief of the Duke Law Journal. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Oregon Health Sciences University, Department of Cell Biology, studying neurotrophic factors after earning her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Columbia University in 1989. Dr. Parent earned her B.S. in biology, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Santa Clara University in 1984.

Dr. Parent is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
