Coleen M. Meehan’s commercial and civil litigation work focuses on complex commercial and business tort matters. Litigating cases at the trial and appellate levels in US state and federal courts, she also appears before the American Arbitration Association, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the US Patent and Trademark Office, and the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Coleen also advises clients on intellectual property (IP) and electronic discovery matters.
Coleen represents clients across varied industries, including publishing, manufacturing, consumer products, insurance, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and financial institutions. She counsels clients on issues involving false advertising, trademarks, trade secrets, licensing, and unfair competition. Coleen also regularly advises clients and colleagues on matters relating to e-discovery, including the retention and discovery of information stored electronically.
Active in firm management, Coleen is the Administrative and Assigning Partner for the Philadelphia litigation practice and former chair of the Philadelphia office’s Professional Recruiting Committee. She also runs the Philadelphia office’s pro bono practice with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office, in which attorneys from the firm represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in prosecuting alleged criminals at hearings and trials.
Representing abused children and women, Coleen is a volunteer attorney for the Support Center for Child Advocates and Women Against Abuse. She is an adjunct professor of law at Villanova University School of Law, where she teaches civil pretrial practice. Coleen is active in the community and formerly served as a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and of Catholic Social Services.
