Jacquelyn A. Caridad is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's eData Practice. Ms. Caridad's practice focuses on commercial litigation, privacy, eDsicovery, and information governance.
Ms. Caridad’s litigation practice focuses on a broad range of state and federal civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on business and corporate disputes and construction, product liability and toxic tort, and insurance coverage litigation. As a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), experienced project manager, and Legal Lean Sigma® Yellow Belt, Ms. Caridad has experience in providing litigation and pre-litigation risk management solutions related to privacy, security, eDiscovery, and information governance issues. In addition to her civil litigation and risk management experience, Ms. Caridad’s practice has also included counseling clients in drafting contracts, negotiating insurance claims, and resolving insurance coverage matters.
In her work, Ms. Caridad collaborates closely with clients, firm technologists, and client IT teams to provide innovative solutions for successfully managing large-scale litigation matters, including those involving electronic discovery and international data transfers, and to provide advice to clients regarding privacy and security, information governance, and eDiscovery issues.
Through her practice, Ms. Caridad has represented clients in a broad range of industries including the financial, manufacturing, utility, industrial products, telecommunications, retail, biomedical, pharmaceutical, medical device, media distribution, healthcare, and investment industries, as well as nonprofit organizations.
During her career, Ms. Caridad has represented several clients on a pro bono basis through Philadelphia’s Volunteers for the Indigent Program and the Support Center for Child Advocates. She also coached the Swarthmore College Mock Trial Team from 1999 to 2001.
Ms. Caridad earned her J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law in 1997. While at Tulane, she was a student attorney for the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic and a board member of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law. She received her B.A. in communications, with high distinction, from Pennsylvania State University in 1993.
