Jared S. Kirkwood is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Kirkwood focuses his practice on complex business litigation, including securities and consumer class actions, shareholder and derivative litigation, trade secret and unfair competition disputes, professional liability, compliance with federal financial regulations, and intellectual property litigation.
Mr. Kirkwood has experience representing clients in all phases of litigation, in both state and federal court, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions and hearings, trial, and appellate briefing.
Prior to his legal career, Mr. Kirkwood served in the U.S. Army, completing two tours of duty in support of Operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He concluded his military service in 2006 as the First Sergeant of a National Guard Military Intelligence company.
Mr. Kirkwood earned his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2009, where he was a Global Law Scholar and worked as an extern with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Division. He also interned with the U.S. Department of Justice, National Security Division, in Washington, D.C. Mr. Kirkwood earned his B.A. in psychology and Russian from Brigham Young University in 2004. He is fluent in Russian.
Mr. Kirkwood is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
