Lauren B. Licastro is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice and is a leader of Morgan Lewis's Health and Welfare Task Force. Ms. Licastro counsels clients on matters related to the implementation, operation, amendment, and termination of health and welfare benefit plans and retirement plans, including compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA, HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, and other applicable law. Ms. Licastro's practice includes assisting clients with plan design and documentation, plan disclosure and participant communications, eligibility and enrollment, claims and appeals, fiduciary issues, voluntary correction programs, and plan mergers and asset transfers. She negotiates contracts on behalf of employers with plan service providers, such as insurers, third-party administrators, and independent review organizations.

Ms. Licastro guides group health plan sponsors and healthcare providers in the development of HIPAA privacy policies and procedures, negotiation of business associate agreements, and conduct of breach investigations, and provides employee training on HIPAA's privacy and security rules.

Ms. Licastro obtained her J.D., cum laude, from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America and her B.A. from Connecticut College.

Ms. Licastro is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, and New York.
