William S. Pufko is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Pufko focuses his practice on environmental issues, including transactional, litigation, and regulatory compliance. As part of his transactional work, Mr. Pufko counsels corporate clients in environmental aspects of business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and asset purchases. Mr. Pufko has represented clients in litigation regarding environmental claims such as CERCLA and state analogues. His litigation experience also includes toxic tort cases. Mr. Pufko has negotiated with regulatory agencies and counseled clients on compliance with numerous federal, state, and local environmental administrative regulations.

Mr. Pufko earned his LL.M., with highest honors, in environmental law from The George Washington University in 2002 and his J.D., cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law in 2000. Mr. Pufko published an article in 2002 in The Environmental Lawyer, titled “The Revised Definition of ‘Discharge of Dredged Material’: Its Legality, Practicality, and Impact on Wetlands Protection.” He earned his B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1997.
