George Edgar, former leader of Morgan Lewis’s Energy Practice passed away on July 8 at the age of 72.

In the 1980s, he and a group of other Energy lawyers left to join a boutique firm, which later became Newman, Bouknight & Edgar. In 1994, he led a number of nuclear and other lawyers from that firm back to Morgan Lewis, helping to create the firm’s industry-leading nuclear team. He served as Energy Practice Group Leader from 1999 to 2003 and was a role model and mentor to many of the firm’s top energy lawyers, often employing a dry wit and wonderful sense of humor.
