Conferences and Speeches

Corporate Counsel University CLE, presented by the Association of Corporate Counsel, Greater Philadelphia Chapter

Thursday, June 23, 2016

Whistleblower complaints present real challenges for organizations and create substantial risks if not properly managed.

This panel will explore some of the critical legal issues and decision points that inside and external counsel face in managing whistleblower complaints, particularly given the financial incentives for whistleblowers to pursue such claims, and the substantial penalties that companies may face in a government enforcement action. We will examine these issues through the lens of the False Claims Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, providing practical advice on how companies manage and attempt to mitigate risk, advise the business, and successfully navigate the enforcement landscape.
