Please join Morgan Lewis for our first Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Roundtable.

This event is a unique opportunity to examine critical issues for the energy industry from the multidisciplinary perspectives of environmental, health and safety, toxic tort, and other applicable regulatory requirements. With presentations and handout materials from Morgan Lewis partners presenting on the new aggressive initiatives from OSHA, EPA, and other federal and state agencies, the roundtable format is designed for interactive and substantive discussions among Morgan Lewis partners and our client participants.

Topics will include:

  • OSHA’s increased penalty structure
  • The new Severe Violators Enforcement Program (SVEP)
  • OSHA’s and EPA’s expansion of Process Safety Management (PSM) enforcement
  • The growth in whistleblower enforcement of environmental- and energy-related statutes
  • Department of Justice (DOJ) initiatives regarding environmental crimes and enforcement
  • EPA’s Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans
  • Defending toxic tort claims in the aftermath of an EHS incident
  • Prospects for legislative revisions to the OSH Act proposed in the Protecting America’s Workers Act (PAWA), including proposed changes consistent with environmental standards
