The U.S. federal financial institutions recently adopted comprehensive regulations implementing the Volcker Rule. The rule and the new regulations will have a material impact on how banks conduct a number of securities, capital markets, and asset management activities, and the ways in which this impact will be felt are becoming clearer as the industry analyzes the regulations and their practical consequences.
