LONDON, 12 November 2007: Morgan Lewis is pleased to announce the expansion of its international corporate finance capability with the hire of Iain Wright as a partner in its London office. Iain joins the firm from Norton Rose, where he was an equity partner specialising in international M&A and equity capital market transactions, including advising on such ground breaking deals as the £25.1bn acquisition of Orange by France Telecom, one of the largest ever transactions in the UK.

In recent years, Iain has focussed on the international communications, media & technology sectors. In addition, he brings with him a broad experience of private company and public corporate finance expertise across a range of business sectors, which he intends to build upon within the Morgan Lewis network. He is recommended by a number of the leading legal directories in various fields of corporate finance, including M&A. Iain joins the firm as the latest of a number of significant partner hires designed to substantially bolster Morgan Lewis capabilities in the corporate and commercial area.

Commenting on his move to Morgan Lewis, Iain Wright said: “I am delighted to be joining Morgan Lewis. The opportunity to diversify my practice and to develop relationships with the extremely broad client base Morgan Lewis has internationally and in the UK is very appealing. I believe my own clients will benefit from the top level transactional skills available throughout the firm’s global network.”

Morgan Lewis London Managing Partner Robert Goldspink added: “We are delighted that Iain Wright is joining us. He brings with him a market leading reputation and significant international expertise to further strengthen our corporate capability in London. Iain’s appointment follows the recent hire of partners Saloni Joshi and Kate Habershon to build out our funds and tax capability and continues the growth of our European Business & Finance Group.” The new partners follow Morgan Lewis's recent move to larger London offices near St Paul's Cathedral ahead of a plan to double its present City headcount of 35 lawyers by 2009.
