Laura E. Hughes is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Ms. Hughes focuses her practice on defending class actions brought under federal securities law and shareholder litigation including breach of fiduciary duty claims as well as claims challenging proposed mergers and acquisitions. In 2012, Morgan Lewis's Securities Litigation Practice, in which she practices, was named as one of the top five securities practices in the United States by Law360.
Ms. Hughes earned her J.D. from Temple University, Beasley School of Law and her M.A. in economics from Temple University Graduate School, graduating from both programs in 2011. She also earned a certificate in business law from Temple University's Fox School of Business in 2011. While in law school, Ms. Hughes served as an intern at the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007.
Ms. Hughes is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
