NEW YORK, January 20, 2005: Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP announced today that Akiba Stern and Ed Hansen, of Shaw Pittman’s New York office will be joining Morgan Lewis’ New York office, as partners in its global Outsourcing Practice.

Commenting on their arrival, David W. Pollak, Co-Leader of the Business and Finance Practice said, "I am delighted to welcome Akiba and Ed to the firm. Akiba Stern- Mr. Stern concentrates his practice on information technology and business process outsourcing; information technology-enabled business transactions; Internet matters; electronic commerce; technology transfers; licensing; intellectual property; and joint ventures. The Chambers USA and Chambers Global Leading Lawyers Guides cited Mr. Stern as "the one to go to" for information technology (IT) and corporate transactions, and for "his facility for closing enormous deals." He has advised clients for more than 25 years in all aspects of business law both as in-house counsel and at law firms.

Ed Hansen - Ed Hansen’s practice is devoted solely to representing clients in technology transactions, with an emphasis in representing users of technology. Mr. Hansen’s practice includes negotiating outsourcing agreements, system acquisitions, telecommunications service agreements, custom software development, software distribution agreements, professional services agreements and Internet-related matters. Mr. Hansen represents a broad range of clients from start-up software developers to multinational corporations contracting for global systems and services.
