Morgan Lewis announced that Robert Falkner, a leading financial services regulation and enforcement lawyer, will join the Litigation Practice as a partner in the firm’s London office, effective today.
He will help anchor Morgan Lewis’ financial services regulatory and enforcement practice in London. Mr. Falkner’s presence will enhance the firm’s ability to offer hands-on, top level, advice and assistance to the financial services community in the US and in Europe. He brings with him an impressive set of skills, which when combined with Morgan Lewis’ extensive regulatory relationships in New York and Washington, D.C., will permit the firm to establish a greater international presence for regulatory and enforcement litigation matters affecting the financial services industry.

Mr. Falkner comes to Morgan Lewis as a partner after serving as general counsel and director for Cantor Fitzgerald International, eSpeed International and their European and Asian affiliates. His responsibilities included all legal, compliance and risk matters arising in Europe and Asia. Prior to his nine years with that company he was a partner with Norton Rose. He qualified first as a lawyer in New Zealand in 1984, and has master’s degrees in law from Victoria University, Wellington New Zealand and from Cambridge University.
