California, April 20, 2005: Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP announced that Scott Morehouse joined the Firm’s Irvine office, as a partner in its Real Estate Practice. Mr. Morehouse’s experience will help to strengthen and expand the firm’s national real estate practice. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Morehouse was a partner at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Morehouse’s practice is devoted to representing domestic and foreign clients in a wide variety of real estate transactions, with a particular emphasis on real estate acquisitions, sales and finance. He counsels major REITS, pension funds, banks, insurance companies, and private investors in connection with their proposed and existing real estate purchases, financings, and holdings. Mr. Morehouse also structures acquisitions, and assists with loans on all major commercial property types, including office buildings, major retail malls and shopping centers, hotels, multifamily residential and undeveloped or partially developed land. He handles complex multistate transactions, including portfolio acquisitions, dispositions and financings, and structures investment and ownership vehicles involving foreign and domestic investors to purchase and operate real estate projects including real estate development joint ventures.
Mr. Morehouse is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he received his J.D., in 1993 (Dean's List). He is also a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, where he received his B.A. summa cum laude, in 1990 (Phi Beta Kappa, Dean's List).
