Our Employee Benefits Practice will be hosting a half-day training session on the basics of employee benefits and executive compensation law.

This program is intended as an introduction to or refresher on benefits and compensation law for senior professionals (both lawyers and nonlawyers) who have oversight responsibility for employee benefit plan compliance.

Topics to be discussed:

  • Types and basic rules of pension plans, profit-sharing plans, 401(k) plans, and qualified retirement plans
  • Health and welfare plans and regulations (HIPAA, PPACA, COBRA)
  • Executive compensation (equity plans and deferred compensation)
  • ERISA fiduciary obligations, including the impact of new Department of Labor disclosure regulations
  • Union-sponsored plans
