SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES
David M. Halbreich (dhalbreich@morganlewis.com) is Co-chair of Morgan Lewis' Insurance Recovery Group. He has represented commercial policyholders exclusively in coverage litigation since 1985 and was one of the lead trial lawyers who, on behalf of Western Mac Arthur Co., recovered over $2.1 billion from carriers on policies that were claimed to be lost or completely exhausted.
James N. Penrod (jpenrod@morganlewis.com) is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group who has tried over 50 jury trials to verdict in many types of cases including Professional Liability, Banking Litigation, Trade Secrets, Criminal Cases, Police Excessive Force and Pattern and Practice Cases and Mass Tort Cases. He was one of the lead trial lawyers in the recent MacArthur insurance recovery trials that settled for $2.1 billion. Jim is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates and has taught and lectured extensively on trial practice and litigation.
David L. Schrader (dschrader@morganlewis.com) is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group in Morgan Lewis' Los Angeles office. His practice has focused on national product liability and toxic tort litigation. David has served as national trial counsel for a defendant in the silicone breast implant litigation, successfully excluded the testimony of numerous expert witnesses offered by plaintiffs, and obtained a defense verdict in every case he has tried. He presently serves as national counsel for a major oil company involved in the recent MTBE litigation.
