Morgan Lewis Litigation partner Joan M. Haratani will be a speaker at the Practising Law Institute's MCLE Marathon 2006: Latest Issues in Legal Ethics- Substance Abuse- Elimination of Bias in the Profession on Wednesday, December 6 in San Francisco. Joan will moderate a panel titled "Diversity in the California Legal Profession: A Status Report and Call to Action."

The panel discussion will include:

  • Current state of diversity in the profession, including the judiciary
  • The impact of diversity challenges in Calfornia's justice system
  • An overview of The State Bar's Diversity Pipeline Project designed to improve diversity in the profession
