To integrate lateral lawyers quickly and effectively, a lateral attorney's first day of employment generally includes orientation sessions and a lunch with other lawyers from the same practice group. One-on-one or group sessions are scheduled with various office representatives to acquire essential knowledge of daily operations—such as computer software, time reporting procedures, and associate policies—to help attorneys be immediately productive.
Practice group leaders assign mentors within the first month of employment and continue to monitor progress closely to ensure a smooth transition to Morgan Lewis.
