Morgan Lewis is proud to announce our Diversity Fellowship Program (DFP). The DFP provides stipends that are designed to assist Diversity Fellows with law school-related expenses. Fellowships

The DFP awards salaried summer associate positions and $15,000 stipends to highly qualified second-year students who will promote diversity at the firm and within the legal community. Fellowships will be awarded to summer associate program candidates. The stipends will be paid to fellowship recipients who complete the Summer Associate Program and accept offers of full-time associate employment with the firm. Half of the stipend will be paid when the summer associate accepts the offer of associate employment, and half will be paid upon commencement of associate employment.

Eligibility

The DFP is open to any second-year law student. Eligible applicants will (1) have successfully completed one year of law school, (2) have demonstrated academic excellence, (3) have outstanding leadership skills, (4) have an interest in employment with Morgan Lewis, and (5) have a demonstrated interest in promoting diversity at the firm and within the legal profession.

Process

Interested students should sign up for an on-campus interview for a summer associate position. If Morgan Lewis does not recruit at your law school, please contact a local Morgan Lewis office to apply for a summer associate position. A fellowship application must be submitted along with a resume; law school transcript; and brief, detailed personal statement by September 30, 2011.

Applications will be reviewed by the Firm Hiring Partner, the Firm Director of Diversity, and the Co-Chairs of the Diversity Committee. After review of all applications and summer associate program interviews have been completed, candidates will be selected. In most cases, fellowship offers will be made at or about the time of the summer associate position offer. Fellowship offers must be accepted or declined within four weeks of receipt.
