The practice of law is a second career for Ingrid Myers. After working for 10 years as a geologist in both the US and Australia, she went to law school with an interest in effecting change in the mining industry. While studying to become a lawyer, Ingrid’s interests expanded into many aspects of business and transactional law, including corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and project financing. Ingrid exceeds her clients’ expectations by continually digging into their legal problems and delivering consistently superior services.

For me, law is the most intellectually stimulating career. There’s always something new to learn. It’s exciting to know that in this profession I will be continually growing and challenging myself.

When I do something, I have to understand it from top to bottom. I’m not fully satisfied until I understand how all the pieces fit together. My science background is useful; it helps me to question and evaluate. I’m the kind of person who likes to pay attention to details and to keep at something until I’ve sorted it out. Our clients appreciate that level of attention.

I loved being a geologist, but what I really like about my work now is that I’m part of a team that’s striving to achieve the common goals of being responsive to our clients and providing the highest quality legal service possible. The greatest thing about Morgan Lewis is that the organization gives back to you as much as you contribute to it. You’re a part of the big picture, not some little cog in the wheel. It’s incredibly rewarding to work here.
