For the first time since its enactment 15 years ago, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) published changes to its regulations under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). There are changes to the existing regulations as well as new regulations to incorporate rules applicable to the new FMLA military leave provisions. On January 16, the final regulations go into effect and will require employers to adapt quickly to make necessary adjustments to their policies and procedures.
This interactive webcast will offer information and discussion on issues including:
- Definition of "exigency leave"
- Leave to care for service members
- Changes in notice requirements
- Definition of a "serious health condition"
- Waiver and release
