The American Conference Institute presents its Fifth National Forum on Law Firm Diversity
Topics for Discussion Will Include:
- Defining what diversity really means for your firm
- (Re) Evaluating law school and lateral recruiting criteria
- Responding to alleged discrimination: Ground-level strategies and steps to take
- What corporate counsel are really looking for from their outside counsel with respect to diversity
Morgan Lewis Of Counsel L. Julius M. Turman will serve as a moderator for two sessions: "General Counsel Session: What Top Corporations Are Looking for from Outside Counsel" and "Lessons Learned from Corporate America: Panel of Diversity Officers from Leading Corporations."
The "General Counsel" session will address the following:
- Identifying evidence of diversity being sought
- Defining "good faith efforts"
- Discussing general trends that firms are embracing and best practices
- Addressing the reverse discrimination argument
- Monitoring

The "Lessons Learned from Corporate America" session will address the following:
- Discussing how Chief Diversity Officers and Committee Members have embraced diversity, implemented policies, procedures and deal with day-to-day issues and challenges that arise
