Two Morgan Lewis Partners Elected to Leading Roles in ABA Labor and Employment Law Section
Two Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP partners have been elected to leading roles within the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section, the foremost organization of labor and employment lawyers in the nation. This Section is comprised of more than 22,000 members and 21 committees.
Timothy P. O’Reilly and D. Ward Kallstrom were elected on August 10 to four-year terms on the Council of the Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association. The Council is comprised of top labor and employment practitioners who govern operations and establish policy for the Section of Labor and Employment Law. The Council includes 12 Employer members, as well as 8 Union and 4 Plaintiff members who collectively constitute the Union and Employee caucus.
Mr. O’Reilly (Philadelphia) was re-elected for a second four year term on the Council. He has been recognized in Who’s Who in International Labour and Employment Law, has been listed in Best Lawyers In America since 1991, is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Mr. O’Reilly’s practice focuses on all facets of employment law with a particular emphasis on management labor relations matters. Mr. O'Reilly advises clients with respect to the application of the NLR and WARN Acts. He also represents employers in collective bargaining and arbitration and has lectured on collective bargaining and grievance administration at Temple University School of Law.
Mr. Kallstrom (San Francisco) has been elected as a new member of the Council. He is a nationally known labor and employment attorney, named in 1998 by The National Law Journal as one of the top management-side benefits litigators in the nation. He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and a Governor and Charter Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. Mr. Kallstrom focuses his practice on fiduciary advice and litigation respecting pension, medical, and other types of employee benefit plans. In particular, Mr. Kallstrom has extensive experience with class actions and other complex litigation arising from the administration of 401(k) plans, profit sharing plans, cash balance and other defined benefit plans, ESOPs, Taft-Hartley trust funds and benefit plans, insured, trusteed, and self-funded health and welfare plans, and severance pay plans.
In addition to the election of Mr. O’Reilly and Mr. Kallstrom, Mark S. Dichter (Philadelphia), as a past Chair of the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law, continues to serve as a non-voting member of the Council. Mr. Dichter is a Fellow of the American College of Employment Lawyers and a Member of the American Employment Law Council’s Board of Directors. Mr. Dichter offers more than 30 years of experience counseling and representing employers in the full spectrum of employment law, including age, gender and race discrimination, sexual harassment, employee benefits and ERISA litigation, employer-employee relations, and labor-management law.
