Morgan Lewis Named Litigation Department of the Year for Labor and Employment by The American Lawyer

January 3, 2006 — Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP has been named the winner of the labor and employment category of The American Lawyer’s Litigation Department of the Year competition. Highlighting the firm’s "creative approach to employment litigation," the magazine praised the firm’s lawyers who, "showed off expertise in nearly every employment niche—and in nearly every part of the country."

The American Lawyer story analyzed the firm’s impressive track record and the continued expansion of its practice across the country. The Litigation Department of the Year competition, which is run every two years by The American Lawyer, invites submissions from the 200 largest law firms across the country. The winner in each category is chosen on the basis of its overall litigation record, significant achievements in arbitration, pretrial, trial and appellate proceedings, and noteworthy jury verdicts. A group of three finalists was selected from 120 submissions. Before selecting a winner, teams of reporters and editors conducted detailed interviews of client references and opposing counsel, and then met with the finalists as the final part of their evaluation.
