Counsel to Testify Before Senate on Behalf of Superfund Settlements Project

—Group urges EPA to strengthen financial management, increase transparency—

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Michael W. Steinberg, senior counsel in Morgan Lewis’s litigation practice, will testify today before the Subcommittee on Superfund and Environmental Health of the Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works.  He will testify on behalf of the Superfund Settlements Project (“the Project”), a not-for-profit association of major companies from various sectors of American industry.

He will be available to comment today to members of the media on the Project’s recommendations, which urge the EPA to improve the Superfund program by strengthening financial management controls, increasing transparency, and conserving more of its annual appropriation for the core mission of the Superfund—completing long-term cleanup at “orphan sites” on the National Priority List.
