Andrew Ruskin Brings His Healthcare Regulatory Practice to Morgan Lewis

Washington, D.C., January 9, 2007 – Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is pleased to announce that Andrew Ruskin has brought his healthcare regulatory practice to the firm. Mr. Ruskin counsels clients on the full array of regulatory issues affecting the healthcare industry.

"Andy's knowledge covers issues related to the regulation of pricing and reimbursement of drugs and medical devices, as well as of healthcare service providers," said Kathleen M. Sanzo, leader of the FDA/Healthcare Regulation Practice at Morgan Lewis. "His experience also complements the firm's expanding FDA/Healthcare and regulatory science practice," she continued.

Mr. Ruskin's practice focuses on providing counsel on healthcare regulatory matters for pharmaceutical and medical device companies, hospitals and other healthcare service providers, as well as to insurers and other commercial payors. He regularly advises on Medicare and Medicaid coverage, reimbursement, and compliance issues affecting these entities. In connection with these issues, Mr. Ruskin frequently advocates his client's position to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which is the agency that administers the Medicare program. Additionally, Mr. Ruskin has appeared before a number of tribunals established to adjudicate Medicare and Medicaid appeals. Mr. Ruskin's practice also includes defending healthcare entities involved in investigations by the U.S. Attorney's Office or by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General. Mr. Ruskin also has significant transactional experience and has drafted numerous disclosure statements for SEC filings for healthcare entities.

Mr. Ruskin is a 1996 graduate of Case Western Reserve University Law School where he received his J.D., magna cum laude. He is Vice Chair of Regulatory, Accreditation and Payment Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Report on Medicare Compliance.
