Our London office was established in 1981, and has grown into a broad English law practice offering a wide range of business and commercial services, as well as US legal services. The office works closely with our other offices in Europe, the United States, and Asia to service the needs of our clients in the UK and internationally.
Our transactional lawyers advise on the establishment, operation, and financing of businesses in the UK, covering mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and debt and equity financings in the public and private markets, including listing on the London Stock Exchange (including AIM), and a wide range of finance and projects transactions, including restructurings. We also advise on investment funds and private equity transactions, and growth businesses, including venture capital.
Our UK Private Investment Funds Practice is part of a sizable global team of attorneys that focus on the formation and operation of private investment funds including private equity, credit and distressed credit, clean energy, infrastructure, real estate, and hybrid funds; the formation and operation of funds of funds and secondary funds; sales and purchases of fund interests in the secondary markets; and the representation of investors in private investment funds.
Our International Tax Practice provides UK and US tax planning and structuring advice for companies and individuals involved in cross-border situations.
Building on our leading market position in the US, we also have a strong Labour and Employment Practice, focusing on high-level employment litigation, managing workplace disputes, and day-to-day advising work, including advice on restructuring, termination, and data privacy issues, as well as advising on the employment and benefits aspects of corporate and outsourcing transactions.
Through our Brussels office, we are also able to provide leading antitrust and regulatory advice, both from a UK and EU perspective.
Our London team is particularly strong in certain business sectors, including life sciences and nuclear energy, where we boast leading sector regulatory and commercial lawyers with a real insight into their industries.
