In 2004, Morgan Lewis opened the Dallas office with the addition of five partners from a prominent national law firm. Since then, the Dallas office has grown to include lawyers specializing in four main areas of law: employee benefits and ESOPs, labor and employment, intellectual property, and outsourcing and technology-enabled transactions law.

Our lawyers in the Employee Benefits Practice bring experience and creativity to both their ESOP and ERISA clients. We represent companies, fiduciaries, and lenders in complex ESOP transactions across the country. Our experience spans the practice from structuring to working with the IRS and other federal agencies. In our ESOP Practice, we have represented banks and private equity funds wishing to invest in ESOP companies and have helped ESOP companies access such investors. Our ERISA Practice lawyers work with many other benefits lawyers in Morgan Lewis's worldwide offices to bring a level of sophistication, knowledge, and experience few firms can offer. We also work with our Litigation Practice to address ESOP and ERISA controversies.

Our Labor and Employment Practice assists employers in developing and implementing effective plans for addressing the changing landscape of legal risks they face. Our clients rely on our team to handle their most significant labor and employment law matters, including labor-management relations, single- and multiplaintiff and class-action litigation, benefits litigation and advice, health and safety issues, employment counseling and advice, and workplace training, among others.

Our lawyers in the Outsourcing Practice are part of one of the leading outsourcing and technology-enabled transactions practices in the world. Our primary focus is with the customer community for these complex information technology and business process outsourcing transations. We work with our clients and with their other advisors to determine realistic objectives of the outsourcing project, develop a set of business requirements that will meet those objectives, and ultimately achieve a deal that reflects those business requirements. Our outsourcing team has completed over 100 major outsourcing projects in the past five years.
