John C. Dodds is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice and co-chair of the Corporate Investigations and White Collar Practice. Mr Dodds' practice centers on the representation of organizations and individuals in government investigations, internal investigations and litigation involving claims of fraud and abuse.
Mr. Dodds began his association with the firm in 1985. From 1988–1993, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In that position, Mr. Dodds handled the investigation and prosecution of a wide range of federal crimes, including health care fraud, corporate fraud, RICO, public corruption and environmental offenses. He received the Directors Award for Superior Performance as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and the Inspector General's Integrity Award for his work in the investigation and prosecution of health care fraud.
Upon leaving the U.S. Attorney's office in January 1993, Mr. Dodds was appointed Special Deputy Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and, along with other attorneys from the firm, conducted a nine-month grand jury investigation of alleged improprieties by members of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Mr. Dodds handles a wide variety of government investigations, white collar matters and related litigation, including major representations in the pharmaceutical and other health care industries, qui tam litigation and the area of environmental enforcement. He has acted as lead counsel for major pharmaceutical companies and other entities in government investigations, class action litigation, and claims by state attorneys general involving the marketing and pricing of products, promotional activities and FDA regulations.
Mr. Dodds is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
