Prashanth Jayachandran is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Jayachandran represents employers in a broad array of labor and employment law matters, including before federal and state trial and appellate courts and administrative agencies. He also has handled wage and hour class and collective actions.
Mr. Jayachandran regularly counsels employers in a variety of labor and employment matters, including the accommodation of employee disabilities and medical leaves, harassment claims, employee disciplinary issues, individual and group termination decisions, and plant closings. He has led internal investigations into various harassment and discrimination claims and negotiated employment, noncompete, and separation agreements. He spent several months serving as a client's in-house labor and employment counsel, in which he worked on a daily basis with the client's general counsel, business leaders, and human resource professionals on a wide spectrum of employment matters.
As part of his labor practice, Mr. Jayachandran has represented employers before the National Labor Relations Board and labor arbitrators. He has represented clients in successful opposition to union-organizing campaigns, as well as in responding to labor grievances and strikes. He has also represented clients in collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
Mr. Jayachandran has spoken on various employment topics, including sexual harassment, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, mandatory arbitration policies, and evaluating employee performance. He currently serves on the Pro Bono Committee for the Princeton office.
Mr. Jayachandran is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Wisconsin and before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
