William H. Kimball is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. His practice focuses on Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory enforcement work, internal corporate investigations, and white collar criminal defense.

Mr. Kimball joined Morgan Lewis after nearly 12 years with the SEC and the Department of Justice (DOJ), having served most recently as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of California. From 2002-2003, he served as one of the first prosecutors on the Justice Department's Enron Task Force, where he investigated and prosecuted various crime relating to Enron's collapse.

Mr. Kimball has extensive experience in regulatory and criminal investigations involving financial reporting fraud and insider trading, as well as in parallel proceedings in civil, criminal or regulatory matters. He is a frequent speaker on industry panels concerning such topics as internal corporate investigations, the criminal enforcement of the securities laws and Sarbanes Oxley.

Prior to joining the DOJ, Mr. Kimball served as a supervisor in the San Francisco District Office of the SEC. He began his legal career as an associate at a Wall Street firm before joining the SEC as an enforcement attorney in Washington, D.C. He also served as a law clerk to Judge James H. Michael, Jr. of the Western District of Virginia.

Mr. Kimball received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1988, and his B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina in 1983. He is admitted to practice in California and New York.
