Carol C. Carty

Associate

Carol C. Carty is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Ms. Carty's practice involves representing clients in complex commercial litigations, particularly insurance coverage litigations.

Ms. Carty has represented corporate and individual policyholders in insurance coverage disputes in connection with a wide variety of underlying claims, such as environmental, product liability, asbestos, wrongful death, and malicious prosecution. Ms. Carty has experience litigating coverage under many different types of policies, including commercial general liability policies, directors and officers' and other professional liability policies, and first-party property policies. In addition to coverage and bad faith litigations, Ms. Carty has represented policyholders in connection with insurance liquidations, including claims against the insurance company's estate and claims against guaranty associations. She has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as in arbitrations and mediations. Ms. Carty also counsels clients on insurance issues.

In 2006, Ms. Carty received the Morgan Lewis Pro Bono Award for the significant insurance settlement she secured for a family whose home and personal property were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Ms. Carty earned her J.D. from Cornell University Law School in 2002 and her B.A., with distinction in all subjects, from Cornell University in 1999.

Ms. Carty is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.
