Steven D. Spencer is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Spencer's practice focuses on a variety of labor and employment law issues, particularly as they affect employee benefit plans. He has provided advice to multiemployer pension and welfare trust funds and to single-employer pension and welfare plans. Mr. Spencer also has provided advice on the application of various federal and state statutes as they apply to employee benefit plans, structured employee benefit plans to avoid or withstand litigation, and structured employee benefit plans to reduce costs. He also has handled age, gender and race discrimination litigation, public sector labor law matters and labor negotiations. He has represented and continues to represent clients in a variety of industries, including the supermarket industry, the bakery industry and the public sector.

Mr. Spencer is a frequent speaker for the ABA and International Foundation of Employee Benefits. Mr. Spencer is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University Law Schools, where he teaches a course on employee benefits law.

Mr. Spencer is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York.
