Mark Taken is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's Global Outsourcing and Emerging Growth Practices. Mr. Taken's practice focuses on complex multinational IT, telecommunications, and business process outsourcing transactions, as well as on high technology and telecommunications transactions and representing emerging growth companies. He has been involved with the legal and business aspects of outsourcing, high technology, mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications, and banking and finance transactions for more than 16 years.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Taken was a senior counsel for Nokia, where he provided legal support for Nokia's North American and global business activities, including mergers and acquisitions, sales, licensing, reverse logistics, regulatory compliance, marketing, and product safety and liability.

In addition, Mr. Taken has also served as senior counsel for EDS, one of the world's largest information technology outsourcing companies, where he structured and negotiated high technology transactions, including outsourcing, e-commerce, consulting, and software development and licensing.

Before working for EDS, Mr. Taken was an associate with the banking and finance practice of a national Dallas-based law firm where he represented banks in commercial lending transactions, with an emphasis on the securitization of government-backed mortgage loans.

Mr. Taken earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1990 and his B.B.A in accounting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1987.

Mr. Taken is admitted to practice in Texas.
