Jeremy D. Peterson is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Intellectual Property Practice. Mr. Peterson concentrates his practice on intellectual property litigation and also has prepared and prosecuted a wide range of technologies and product patent applications. He has been significantly involved in all aspects of district court litigation, including jury trials and claim construction hearings. Mr. Peterson also has prosecuted patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and national stage filings under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Peterson was associated with a large international law firm, where he was responsible for all aspects of district court litigation.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Peterson worked at The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) for 11 years, where he was a manager of the bioinformatics group. He also worked with the research and development group in the laboratory, where he was involved with large-scale sequencing. While at TIGR, Mr. Peterson authored or co-authored more than 30 scientific articles in such journals as Science, Nature, and Nucleic Acids Research.
Mr. Peterson earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law in 2007 and his B.S., cum laude, in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1994.
Mr. Peterson is admitted to practice in Virginia only and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
