Mary B. Aversano is the director of Trademark Registry Services in the Intellectual Property Trademark/Copyright Practice. Morgan Lewis's Trademark Registry Services focuses on providing the requisite registry services to ensure protection of our clients' trademarks, from filing to maintenance, in the United States and worldwide. As director, Ms. Aversano is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of Trademark Registry Services, as well as the strategic planning and implementation of procedures and processes used in connection with global trademark protection.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Aversano was in private practice representing clients in all phases of trademark, copyright, and domain name issues. She has 15 years of experience in all aspects of global trademark protection, including the handling of one of the world's largest hotel and leisure companies with major brands in more than 150 countries.

Ms. Aversano is active in the International Trademark Association (INTA), currently serving as a team leader for the Trade Dress Image Library Subcommittee. She previously chaired INTA's Brand Names Education Foundation Public Information Committee and served as a board member of the Advisory Committee for the Orange County Lawyer.

She earned her M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine in 1994; her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1991; and her B.S. in microbiology from San Diego State University in 1981.

Ms. Aversano is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, California, and New York, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits.
