Leigh Woodruff Marquardt is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Marquardt focuses her practice on the defense of employers in single-plaintiff lawsuits and class and collective actions. She has litigated discrimination matters, wage and hour claims, and noncompetition cases.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Marquardt was an associate at a respected litigation firm in Philadelphia, where she represented corporate clients from various industries, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, financial services, insurance, and computer technology. Ms. Marquardt also has represented lawyers, engineers, and other professionals against allegations of malpractice and other claims.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Marquardt served as a judicial law clerk for Justice Francis Montemuro, Jr. of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Marquardt earned her J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law in 2000, where she was the recipient of the Arthur J. Kania Prize in Professional Ethics and managing editor for the Villanova Sports & Entertainment Law Journal. Ms. Marquardt earned her M.A. in cultural anthropology from the University of Chicago in 1997 and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Allegheny College in 1993.
Ms. Marquardt is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
