Marshall C. Stoddard, Jr. is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice and co-chair of the Finance and Restructuring Practice. Mr. Stoddard is a transactional lawyer and corporate advisor focusing his practice on commercial, banking, and bankruptcy law across a wide range of industries, including technology, entertainment, government contractors, media, transportation, and agriculture.

Mr. Stoddard's finance experience includes senior debt, corporate, and acquisition financing; mezzanine financing and syndications involving recapitalizations; refinancings; and commercial, asset-based, and cash-flow lending.

Mr. Stoddard also has experience in restructurings and reorganizations, including debt restructuring representing senior creditors and syndicate groups, bond holders, and secured creditors both in and out of bankruptcy; exit financing; contested bankruptcy matters; plan formulation; strategic divestitures; recapitalizations; and other financial and legal restructures.

The 2011 edition of Chambers USA notes that Mr. Stoddard is "a very solid banking lawyer" and the 2008 edition of Legal 500 USA notes that "[h]is knowledge of the secured lending industry and ability to negotiate legal points separates him from other lawyers." He is an author of numerous articles and frequently presents to professional organizations. Mr. Stoddard is also active in professional organizations, including current service as a member of the Board of Directors of the Commercial Finance Association.

Mr. Stoddard has authored two treatises, Lender Liability and Advanced Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Practice, and has lectured on numerous topics to business and legal organizations and audiences.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Stoddard was a partner in the bank and institutional finance practice of an international law firm, where he served as the head of the practice in the United States.

Mr. Stoddard earned his J.D. from Western New England College School of Law and his B.A. from Hobart College.

Mr. Stoddard is admitted to practice in New York, California, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia.
