Jennifer N. Layfield is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice. The lawyers in our Business and Finance Practice focus on mergers and acquisitions (including joint ventures, spin-offs, and strategic alliances), finance and restructuring, securities (including public and private equity and debt offerings), and tax. Clients range from Fortune 500 companies to investment banks to emerging market companies.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Layfield was an associate at a national law firm where she focused on energy and climate change. While there, she defended natural gas traders and advised clients on climate change legislation and related legal issues.
Ms. Layfield earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School in 2004, where she was the recipient of the Shattuck Award for Leadership. She earned her B.A., with high honors, in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2001.
Ms. Layfield is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, all California state courts, and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
