Torsten Schwarze is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice and a member of its Securities Practice. Dr. Schwarze has represented financial service institutions, stock and derivatives exchanges, and companies in connection with various capital markets and acquisition finance transactions, regulatory matters, and derivatives law. Dr. Schwarze, who joined the firm in our Frankfurt office in January 2002, is currently working out of the firm's New York office, where he is focusing on securities and finance matters.
Prior to his joining Morgan Lewis, he worked for a law firm in Leipzig. During 1999 and 2000, he completed parts of his legal internship in our Washington, D.C. office.
Dr. Schwarze studied law at the University of Leipzig and the University of Stockholm. He received his LL.M. from the Martin Luther University Halle Wittenberg in 1999 after completing graduate studies in business law. Dr. Schwarze concluded his legal training by passing his Second State Examination in Leipzig in June 2000 and has been practicing law since. He received his Ph.D. from the Law Faculty of the University of Leipzig in 2003. Dr. Schwarze is fluent in German, English, and Swedish.
