Joseph Duffy is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice. Mr. Duffy's practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, products liability, and toxic torts, including complex mass tort litigation. His practice in this area includes acting as national, coordinating, and trial counsel. Mr. Duffy has trial experience in mass tort and products liability matters and has served as first- or second-chair trial counsel on more than a dozen cases. Generally, he has represented chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and construction products companies in numerous product liability matters, including those related to asbestos, silica, and benzene.

Mr. Duffy also has experience representing retail and food companies in state and nationwide consumer class actions. He is an active part of the firm's cross-disciplinary retail initiative and defends numerous large retail companies facing various statutory claims in both state and federal courts. Mr. Duffy is also a leader of the Litigation Practice's Food Industry Group and counsels clients facing claims related to labeling and advertising. Mr. Duffy’s general litigation experience also includes significant construction disputes, including large-scale electrical generation facilities, office buildings, and residential properties. He also has counseled various clients in NASD broker-dealer arbitrations, breach of contract and guarantee actions, and California 17200 and CLRA claims.

Mr. Duffy earned his J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2000, where he served as president of the International Law Society. He earned his B.A., cum laude, in political science from the College of New Jersey in 1996. He was a master's candidate in international relations at Villanova University in 1997.

Mr. Duffy is admitted to practice in California and Pennsylvania.
