John F. Bales, III serves as counsel in Morgan Lewis's Business Transactions Practice. Mr. Bales practiced in the Business Transactions Group from 1972 to 2001; he was a partner of the firm from 1976 to 2001.
Mr. Bales has provided counsel to many corporations and investment-banking firms in public offerings, including initial public offerings and bank and thrift conversions from mutual to stock form. He also has handled numerous issues involving partnerships and limited liability companies, venture capital financing, and public and private financing of closely held and emerging businesses. Mr. Bales also frequently advises clients engaged in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. In addition, he has extensive experience in counseling many healthcare and other nonprofit organizations on business law and corporate governance issues.
Over the years, Mr. Bales has lectured on a variety of business and health law topics for organizations such as the Practising Law Institute, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and the National Health Lawyers Association, and has periodically contributed articles to publications on these subjects.
Mr. Bales has developed extensive experience in business and finance matters for a variety of corporate entities.
