Uwe Jahn

Counsel

Within the context of the Finance Practice Group of Morgan Lewis, Uwe Jahn counsels German and international credit institutions, insurance companies and industrial companies on financing, also in connection with M&A transactions. His practice also includes collateralization of international securities and financial derivative transactions and matters of national and international insolvency law as well as banking supervisory law.

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Dr. Jahn worked in the Central Legal Department of Commerzbank AG where he was a Senior Legal Adviser as well as Head of the International Legal Group and the Investment-Banking Group. He was a member of the Legal Committee of the Federal Association of German Banks (since 1990) as well as other bodies, such as the Documentation Committee of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) as co-chairman (Europe).

Dr. Jahn is the author of numerous publications on foreign trade law, financial innovations as well as on insolvency law. He is an active speaker and chairman at national and international seminars and conferences on financing, collateralizations, insolvency law and banking supervisory law. He is co-editor of the bi-weekly review "Bank- und Kapitalmarktrecht" and member of the Independent Advisory Board of the International Faculty of Finance.

Dr. Jahn studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main, where he also received his Ph.D. in 1971. He passed the Second Legal State Exam in 1972.

Dr. Jahn is admitted to practice law in Germany since 1973. He is fluent in German, English, French and Italian.
