Julia Y. Trankiem is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Trankiem's practice focuses on the representation of management with respect to a broad range of labor, employment and employee benefits matters under state and federal law. She has represented employers in complex labor, employment and employee benefits litigation, particularly in class and collective actions; assisted with complex investigations and collective action litigation brought under the FLSA; defended wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, and other employment-related cases; and advised and counseled employers with respect to wage and hour laws, employment manuals, and personnel policies. Prior to joining the Chicago office, Ms. Trankiem practiced in the Los Angeles office.
Ms. Trankiem earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. While in law school, Ms. Trankiem held an externship with Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge John E. Ryan, Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Trankiem is admitted to practice in Illinois and California.
