Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Stigall served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the District of New Jersey for more than seven years. Most recently, Mr. Stigall was the lead prosecutor who structured the investigation into the terrorist plot to attack U.S. military installations, including the U.S. army base at Fort Dix, New Jersey—which culminated in the arrests of what has come to be known as the "Fort Dix Six." As a trial lawyer, Mr. Stigall handled many complex and high-profile matters and tried numerous cases involving a wide range of federal crimes, including securities, mail, and wire fraud; financial institution fraud; money laundering; and violations of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. As a member of the terrorism unit, Mr. Stigall also successfully prosecuted companies and individuals accused of illegally exporting weapons components and technology overseas. He received the Department of Justice's Director's Award for Superior Performance as an assistant U.S. attorney, and served as a lecturer to the FBI, Department of Commerce and Department of U.S. Homeland Security. Mr. Stigall was a litigation associate at Morgan Lewis, from 1996-2000, before joining the Department of Justice.
Mr. Stigall received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law, where he was a note and comment editor for the Temple Law Review and a member of the Moot Court. While in law school, he clerked for Judge Edward R. Becker of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Stigall received his B.A., magna cum laude, in history and psychology from Connecticut College in 1991.
Mr. Stigall is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
