Sean W. Sloan is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Sloan focuses his practice on counseling and representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation, wage and hour litigation, and traditional labor and employee benefits matters. Mr. Sloan represents employers in single-plaintiff, multiplaintiff, and complex collective and class action litigation before state and federal courts. He also handles administrative complaints before state and federal agencies.
Mr. Sloan has presented seminars and authored articles on subjects such as employer compliance with federal wage and hour laws and Family and Medical Leave Act compliance. He is a former regular contributor to the Pennsylvania Employment Law Letter.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Sloan was an associate in the labor and employment practice of a prominent Philadelphia law firm.
Mr. Sloan earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Villanova University School of Law in 2004, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as an associate editor of the Villanova Law Review. While in law school, Mr. Sloan served as a judicial extern for Judge Jane R. Roth of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and as a research assistant to professor Gregory P. Magarian. He also participated in the Summer Law Intern Program of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he worked for the Civil Division, Appellate Staff. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude and with departmental honors, from Susquehanna University in 2001.
Mr. Sloan is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey.
