Michael F. Derksen

Michael F. Derksen is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Litigation Practice. Mr. Derksen focuses his practice on the representation of clients in complex insurance recovery actions and complex commercial litigation before both state and federal courts, primarily in Illinois. He has prosecuted and defended breach-of-contract actions, insurance coverage actions, and actions brought under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

Mr. Derksen earned his J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School in 2008. While in law school, Michael was a Law School Centennial Cornerstone Scholar and played guitar in The University of Chicago Law School’s theatrical comedy sketch. Mr. Derksen earned his B.A. in psychology from the University of Michigan in 2005, where he was a Lloyd Hall Scholar and co-hosted the student-run television show "Michigan Football 2004."

Mr. Derksen is admitted to practice in Illinois.
