Noel Ainsworth is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice and a member of the Private Investment Funds Practice. Noel focuses his practice on the structuring, formation, and operation of private investment funds, including credit and distressed credit, buyout, venture, infrastructure, clean energy, and real estate; the structuring, formation and operation of fund of funds and secondary funds; secondary market purchases and sales of private fund interests; and the representation of investors in private investment funds. As part of his practice, he advises fund management teams on the establishment of new fund management businesses including spinouts, restructurings, and mergers.
Noel is recognised as a leading private funds lawyer by Chambers UK and the UK Legal 500 directories. He also won the "UK Private Funds Lawyer of the Year" award at the Finance Monthly Magazine Awards for 2010 for advising on a private equity funds merger.
Noel is a frequent speaker at private equity conferences and events. He also participates in various events of the UK private equity industry body, the British Venture Capital Association.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Noel was a partner in the private funds practice of an international law firm resident in its London office.
Noel received an LL.B., with honors, from University of London in 1994.
