Matthew W. Olsen is an associate in the Financial Restructuring Group within Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Mr. Olsen’s practice focuses on corporate bankruptcy, restructuring, and other insolvency-related matters, with an emphasis on creditors’ rights and bankruptcy litigation. He has been involved in the representation of secured lenders, official and unofficial committees, commercial landlords, and other significant parties in large bankruptcy cases. 

Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Olsen was a law clerk to Judge Stuart M. Bernstein, Chief Justice of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, and an associate in the bankruptcy and restructuring practice of another prestigious international law firm.

Mr. Olsen earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School in 2002, where he was a research editor for the Brooklyn Law Review. He earned his B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1998.

Mr. Olsen is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
